Karma

If I only got to do one good deed this year I am glad that this one was it. An old friend from high school posted on their facebook that they needed to find a home for this precious girl after his dog had puppies that were unexpected. She was the last one and was going to be going to a shelter if they couldn’t find her a home. So I re-posted it and a friend of a friend decided he wanted her.

I went to my hometown that next day and picked her up and took her to her new home. They named her Karma. I love this name and think it’s very fitting for her situation. She is now happy and healthy in her new home and everyone loves her. I get to visit quite frequently and every time she sees me she comes running to the door jumping up and down so happy to see me.

It makes me so happy I could find her a home and that I know she is being well taken care of. Both of my dogs were rescues and our pitbull who was previously used as a bait dog had been badly abused. I believe that rescuing a dog is one of the most humane things you can do in your life. I am blessed to have been a part of this rescue.

This blog post is dedicated to my two rescues. Ruger (left) and Zeda (right)

  1. UM… Ruger is GORGEOUS! And of cousre Zeda is very beautiful too. Do they get on well together?

And yes, I know what you mean about rescue. It blows my mind that people would go any other route. It's the equivalent of all the unloved babies in orphanages, only they don't get put to sleep when it gets overcrowded. It's horrific what shelter animals get put through.

  2. Thank You! Watch for my Wordless Wednesday post tomorrow *hint hint* it will have my doggies in it. I got some new pictures of them that are amazing!!!

And I would never buy an expensive “pure breed” dog when I know there are so many rescues out there. I wish I could take them all, but two is quite enough. But when they are gone (God help me on that day) I will definitely be rescuing more.
